Not Proxmox, however. But really, not that bad, there are ways around it. Create a blank virtual machine through the UI, scrap the disk you create, then extract the two disk QCOW2 files from the .ova file, which by itself is just a POSIX TAR archive.
A disk image, such as the popular qcow2 disk image can be read and used as a file system without having to attach it to a running VM. That can be handy when you’ve got information on a backed up virtual image and don’t want to turn on a whole VM in order to access some data held on it.
The disk images are available in QCOW2, VHD, VMDK, and raw disk image formats. The image download size is approximately 135 MB, which decompress to a 20 GB sparse image. Note to consumers of the dvd1.iso image: the packages included on the DVD do not have a corresponding pkg(8) repository due to an incompatibility with pkg-1.2.x and pkg-1.3.x.

Exporting the volume local:103/vm-103-disk-.qcow2 to the file target. This is mostly used internally with pvesm import. The stream format qcow2+size is different to the qcow2 format. Consequently, the exported file cannot simply be attached to a VM. This also holds for the other formats.
To create an image file with the size of 10GB and qcow2 format (default format for QEMU images), run: qemu-img create -f qcow2 testing-image. qemu-system-i386 -global ide-hd. QEMU kommt mit ISO-Images besser zurecht als mit DVDs. the Qemu image file) using the Linux installer. img2) starts at sector 92160. 10-desktop-i386.
Extra: Upgrade Proxmox. At this time, we'd bought our Proxmox license and did a dist upgrade from 4.4 to 5.0 which had just released. To do that, follow the upgrade document from the Proxmox wiki. Or install 5.0 right away. Migrating VMs. Now that the storage is in place, we are all set to create our VM's and do the migration.
